Overclocking reassurance.

Hello all who read this,

I recently built a new system based around the E2200 + Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3 for a friend of mine.
Earlier today I decided to finalise the build by Overclocking the CPU, I wasnt going for maximum speed, just around 3.0 GHz.

I just want to check here for some reassurance that what I have done is ok.

I am only going to go through the changes I made in the M.I.T. section (4th image down).

1. I changed the 'CPU Host Frequency' from '200' to '270'.
2. I changed the 'PCI Express Frequency (MHz)' from 'Auto' to '100Mhz'.
3. I changed 'Performance Enhance' from 'Turbo' to 'Standard'.
4. I changed the 'System Memory Multiplier (SPD)' from 'Auto' to '3.00'. This gives me a FSB-DRAM ratio of 2-3.
5. I changed the DRAM timings to 4-4-4-15.
6. I changed 'System Voltage Control' from 'Manual' to 'Auto'

After I finished doing the settings above I booted into windows and ran Orthos, it ran for 6 hours without a problem and the maximum temperature I saw was 61 (Average is around 56 load and 26 idle).
I ran CPUZ to find out the voltage of the CPU, strangely it changes of its own accord in an opposite way to what I would expect, under high load it is 1.360v and idle it is 1.392v (I sometimes see it as 1.372v on high load).

Anyway, those are the results of my Overclocking if there is anything about what I have done that seems stupid or could be tweaked for better efficiency, please tell me.

p.s. If while on the bios page I linked to you see an option in the other bios screens that need to be changed, please tell me about that (baring in mind that these are not screenshots of my actual bios, so I may not have the same settings).

p.p.s. Just in case you dont know, my CPU multiplier is 11 so that gives me 2.97MHz.

Umm from what that appears to show, you're actually running the memory at 1:3 ratio so you're running it at 810mhz
As you've not said what the memory is this could be a problem. (although you seem to be stable so it's good)
To run it at a 2:3 raito you want the multiplier at 1.5 (but I seem to remember that the 2:3 ratio was only the magic number for amd chips and is less important for intel cpu's)
Also depends on what the ram is for best timeings.

Hmm.... Try downloading River Tuner, its a reliable program, maybe you'll have better luck there :rolleyes:

Pob255 - I came to know about the 2-3 ratio by looking at CPU-Z not by mathematics (I didnt question it), but I assume your right because the ram IS running at 810MHz. I dont think that will be a problem though, as I am using OCZ 2GB with timings of 4-4-4-15.

hacker12 - I have Rivatuner installed for tweaking the graphics card, I dont know what you mean by better luck though.
