Re: XFX 7900gt Fan Speed.
The temps are fine, but if you reduce the fan speed they will go up.
Must admit the fan on my 7900gs xxx annoid me, but only when playing games when it would speed up.
I got a aftermarket cooler, it's a gigabyte one, basicly it is the same cooler as the stock one from the 7900gtx
something like this would work well
if that's too much to spend then I picked mine up from ebay for £15 delivered so have a look and you might find something good.
(remember that replaceing the cooler does invalidate the warranty.
Re: XFX 7900gt Fan Speed.
I dont mind having the sound of the fan during gameplay as the speakers I have drown it out, the problem is, its running 100% the whole time, even while surfing the web.
I am hoping to change the fan to go to 100% when it reaches 70 degrees or something similar.

You should try ati tool (it's called ati tool, but works on most graphics cards) and theres an option to set what speed you want the fan in relation to temperature, you can save this as a profile. Only downside is you'll have to load this up everytime you boot.
ATITool - Overclocking utility for ATI and NVIDIA cards

I'll have to agree with you there mate, I have two 7900GT cards running in SLi, I've got those Zalman v9000 coolers on them, but for them to be most effective you also need to have good internal cooling as well, oh and after you're sorted, you won't be on talking terms with you wallet for a while, LOL :P
If thats too costly for you to stomach, then you could try out ATi Tool as has been suggested, it won't cost you a penny and you can in theory try it out immediately :)
Re: XFX 7900gt Fan Speed.
I have used ATITool many times, unfortunatly there is no 'Fan Control' option to be found.
