Smile Can someone reccomend me a new PSU?

I'm looking to get an 8800GT, but I have an old PSU.

My new one would have to power:
    Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3200+
    Motherboard: NF4-INF (manufacturer, I don't know )
Graphics Card: 8800GT 512MB I'm not sure which one, whatever's cheapest and still good. Any reccomendations?
160GB HDD, IDE I am assuming, this cimputer's 2 years old.
    DVDRAM Drive: GSA-4167B

And, a floppy drive lol. It doesn't matter if this can't be powered, it hasn't even been used in 2 years.
I think this is everything, if you need more information, just say.

    Thanks

I second the corsair, mine's really quiet and i've had no problems with it whatsoever.

Re: Can someone reccomend me a new PSU?

They're made by CWT. I'd buy the 430W Seasonic (who make the higher end Corsairs) myself. The 380W would easily be enough for that and more, but it's the same price as the 430W at the moment for some reason.

Re: Can someone reccomend me a new PSU?

No there's not the vx450w is made by seasonic, it's the vx550 and tx series that are made by CWT

And from the reviews they seem to have done a very good job on it and it's not a budget CWT job
    [H] Enthusiast - Corsair VX550W vs. Corsair HX520W

Overall the build quality of the VX550W is uniformly excellent. The unit is neat, well designed, and is stocked with very good Japanese capacitors. The only small ding for the unit is the unfinished looking cables that CWT seems to do on most units these days as they stop sleeving the cables right before they enter the housing.

Re: Can someone reccomend me a new PSU?

I can recommend the Corsair VX450 aswell, but if you want modular, go for the Corsair HX520 or one of the new Enermax MODU82 models.

The new Enermax PSUs are supposed to be the best around but they're a bit more expensive.
The Corsair is probably the best quality bang for buck PSU you can get.

The 380w doesn't have any PCI-E connectors, or at least mine didn't.

Re: Can someone reccomend me a new PSU?

I have had a Seasonic Power supply running in my media center (continuous running for best part of two years) and it has been superb.
Would really rate any PSU made by Seasonic hence I am looking at the Corsair's also for a new system build.

Re: Can someone reccomend me a new PSU?

Thank you to everyone for the replies. I think I'll go for either a VX550W or a HX520W.

Not sure yet, but either one will definitely have all the right connectors and plugs, yeah?

i have to reccomend the hx520w i have the hx620w (or 650 i forget ) but the hx620w comes with every cable you would ever need and im guessing the 520w should be no different, mainly cos most things are powered off molex enyways (well... ish, there were plenty of molex - sata power connectors with mine, as well as a whole host of assorted sata power cables)

    just my 2p worth

but to be honest i dont think you could go wrong with either of them two

Re: Can someone reccomend me a new PSU?

    i'd say a Corsair HX x20w either the 520 or 620..
    i have the 620 and it's awesome!
whisper quiet and only gets slightly warm while playing game and doing the hardest of PC tasks..

i'd also recommend this GFX card..
    512MB EVGA 8800GT

    - lifetime warranty (can change the cooler and keep the warranty)
    - has the newer 80mm fan on the card's heatsink
    - Scan.. good customer care
    - good extras pack with the card

620 in insanely overpowered for that rig.
    Heck, a 520 is

yeah, would definately agree with you there.. if i was him i'd go for the 520 or maybe even the 450 but i can't recommend those seeing as i've not that those actual wattage editions
i'm sure they're very similar to the 620 apart from a few amperage increases..

Re: Can someone reccomend me a new PSU?

Just thought it would be worth pointing out that there is a major bottleneck with the cpu... If you are planning on keeping it like this for 6 months+ then it is worth grabbing a fast single core chip (will cost ~£20)
