    Recommend me..

    a HDD silencer/ cooler.

    Hey all.

Am building a small file server which will be sat at the back of my desk so I want it as quiet as possible as it will be run while I have my pain PC on which will be inside a P182 eventually, i have already found items that I can use to silence the vibrations I would usually get from fans but im struggling for anything HD related.

I have found a few items, one being an item which I can attach two drives too and silence them and found two ways of cooling my HD's. The case size is..limited, its an old case so size is..somewhat limited, i have enough rooms to fit the items in the computer I want, so i need something ideally small but efficient aswell.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated and considered, thanks.

when it comes to this sort of thing.. i favour the ghetto mod
Bit of elastic to suspend the hard drive and a fan blowing on it is a nice idea.

Something in the middle might be this
Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

That would take away any case vibration but if the drive is particuarly "clicky" you probably will need some sort of enclosure.

there are also some anti vibration brackets for putting a 3.5" drive into a 5.25" bay but I can't seem to find them.

    Re: Recommend me..

    Cheers Mike.

    All good suggestions mate.

Hmm im not sure, i dont like the idea of the last link because of the way its been designed, theres alot going into that HD silencer to make the drives silent which I think will add to the heat problem.

So out of those Id have to go with the sharkoon and the Xigmatek as a combination.

    Thanks again mate.
