Re: Is this build alright?
Looks nice.
I would go for the Q6600, espeically if you are planning to overclock.
BFG has lifetime warranties, EVGA I believe is 10 years in Europe but that might have changed. Just make sure you register them on the website within a certain number of days else you get didly squat lol
All the cards are the same so don't worry about that, it's just what company you want to deal with, what has the better bundle etc..
Re: Is this build alright?
Im guessing your going to use 2 s-flexs on that Ultima. I'd say get the thermalright ultra 120 extreme instead of the ultima nad just use 1 fan :) should be the same price.
Hmmmm the g-card is abit pricy compared to a 8800gt BFG OC (£130) even though its a slightly lower model, the performance and pricing isnt worth it i think.
And as for the ram i'd say to get the first choice or go somewhere else for better memory (crucial ballistix or geil or g.skill) (if you can be bothered)
As yes overclocking
the 8400 is a fantastic overclocker... but it is very brittle compared to the q6600... if this is your first overclock i'd suggest doing a lot of research on oerclocking this chip. It can go over 4ghz easy but with too much push you can kill the chip.. (i think the known limit of voltage is 1.375 before you start frying it... comparing this to the q6600 which will he-man away on 1.55v just shows how much of a beating the q6600 can get.)

Yep...BFG do offer lifetime warranty..even to Europena customers.
The BFG card is actually quicker and its £30 less aswell......runs everything as you would want.
EVGA are pretty poor unless you are living in the USA so their price premiums arent worth a poo over here.
I would also give that memory a swerve if i were you aswell.
There is faster and cheaper out there that is just as good quality.
Corsair RMA's are no better than EVGA's if once again your arent living in the USA.
Take a look at Overclockers (sorry folks), Ebuyer for memory.
Heres an example: G.Skill 4GB DDR2 PQ PC2-6400C5 (2x2GB) CAS5 Dual Channel Kit (F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ)
or this: GeIL 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5 800MHz Black Dragon DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GB24GB6400C5DC)
or this: OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5 Dual Channel Vista Gold Series DDR2 (OCZ2G8004GK)
All of which are cheaper and almost certainly will clock higher aswell.
As for the CPU.....i wouldnt be paying £170 (seeing as they SHOULD be around £120...its a con) for a E8400 when you can get a Q6600 for £30 cheaper. The Q6600 will last you alot longer, will run games just aswell, and to get a good overclock youwont have to mess about with voltages.

You can't argue with their graphics and memory prices though.. even if people do hate them lol

True!
I always buy memory there. Only because i can RMA it straight to the manufacturer rather than them if there is an issue.
Manufacturers always deal with things faster anyway....well usually.
Re: Is this build alright?
Thanks again everyone. Geil Black Dragon that's a name I keep hearing, and the Ultra 120 Extremewould make more sense at the about the same price, I was just worried about fitting it in the case
