X-Fi Notebook Problem

Lo guys,

I got this through the post on friday but i cant get it to work right. When i try to use it music sounds choppy and skips about etc. Ive tried reinstalling drivers etc to no avail. So im still just using the onboard realtech audio which funny enough works flawlessly.

Anyone else had any problems with this? Or have any dieas on how to fix this? Starting to hate creative lately lol

Stupid starter Q?? Did you disable the onboard sound?

(Also, is it XP or Vista?)

All my laptop details are in my sig

Yes have disabled onboard and its xp

still got the same problem

Is there anything in the notification tray related to the x-fi?

Have you ensured that the x-fi is the default device under 'sounds and audio devices properties'?

Another daft one, have you tried another usb port? It may be that not all your usb ports are powered equally.

the x-fi notebook is an Express Card so it doesnt use the usb interface.

Yes i have set it up as the default sound device. I have even uninstalled and disabled the onboard sound device.
