    What? Another PSU thread....

    Current PSU is an ATX-300-12z (HP 300W stock jobby). It's also faulty and needs to be replaced.

    The new one needs to power an Athlon 64 X2 3800+, 7600GS 512MB, a couple of SATA drives and an optical drive. There needs to be scope to power a new GPU in the future.

    Options;

    350W Silverstone ST35F - Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK - £32.89

    400W Silverstone SST-ST40EF+ - Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK - £52.86

    450W Corsair VX Series - Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK - £44.05

    Budget is £50 or thereabouts.

    What say you?

    Re: What? Another PSU thread....

    How chunky a new GPU? If it's not OTT I'd go for the 350W one and save a few quid.

    I believe that the Silverpower PSUs are made by Tagan. I installed the SP-400P2C in a build I did and it seems fine so far! The version which received favourable reviews is the earlier variant and not the second version(SP-400P2C) which is on sale know and has bigger fans. I have not seen any reviews of this newer version.

    i agree with the corsair, will more than power what you have, and will allow plenty of upgrades in the future
