    Yet another, new PC, Help.

Hey, im looking at building a PC for someone, looks are just as/if not more important than the main functionals.
but he also wants cheapness, i.e. under £200 delivered

so far this is what i've come up with (all off ebuyer, because it seems to be cheapest at the minute)

    Mobo: Here ASUS M2N-MX SE

    CPU: here AMD Sempron LE-1200

    RAM: here Corsair 1GB DDR2 533MHz/PC24200

    HDD: here Western Digital WD800AAJS

    DVD: here Sony DRU-190S

and most importantly (for him) Case: here EV Shiny Piano Black/Red

and i think that it is going to need a separate PSU, as i don't think that the one in the case will power it.

so PSU: here Corsair VX450WUK 450W PSU
i know that is grossly over watted.

all of this comes to £198.14 delivered.

Obviously any changes etc that i can make to make the overall system better will be greatly appriciated.

even if it does mean using an intel cpu and mobo.

bottom line is it needs to be cheap, and look good.

oh and also, as this is going to be my first venture into m-atx, i don't know how big the case is and if everything will fit

    any ideas?

Re: Yet another, new PC, Help.

Will a stardard size PSU fit in that case? It seems to have a microATX psu included and it looks quite narrow.

I think the best thing (if he likes the cases) is to get an Asus barebones AM2 system. You can save a lot of money that way and could probably get, 2gb of RAM and dual core etc.. if that would be useful to him.

you can go £30 cheaper but this is a nice looking case
    Asus T3-M2NC51PV Silver AM2 Barebone - With 250W PSU - Ebuyer

    and 250w will be plenty.

    going cheaper
    ASUS Vintage V3-M2V890 - SKT AM2 - With 300W PSU - Ebuyer

his old pc was a cyrix 700mhz with 56mb of ram an hes coped with that on windows ME up until now

Re: Yet another, new PC, Help.

ok. following staffsMike's advice, i've changed the spec, (i have no idea what is included with a barebones system tho, im guessing mobo case n psu?)

    Barebones: here Asus T3-M2NC51PV

    CPU: here AMD Athlon 64 X2 3600+

    HDD: here Western Digital WD800AAJS

    RAM: here Corsair 1GB DDR2 533MHz/PC24200

    DVD: here Sony DRU-190S

    new price:£195.47 delivered

anymore things i can upgrade? while keeping price below £200

edit: but barebones is looking the best way TBH

    Looks sweet to me

AMD's do like faster low lactency RAM though so i would spend the extra on this

EDIT: i have just noticed that the CPU is an OEM which means you will need a cheap HSF to go with it.
    something like this maybe

That's kool just that HSF you need to get, unless you have one you could use.

Optiarc AD-7200S 20X DVD±RW/DL/RAM Internal SATA Bare Black Drive - OEM - Ebuyer save £5 with that to cover it.

It's an OEM CPU so it doesn't come with one unfortunatly. Mentions it on the page.
