the Scythe Mine or the Scythe Ninja really.. both very good coolers and both very quiet coolers.
I always go for the ninja, used 3 now. They are next to silent with the fan and can be run passive for most stock chips and even for a bit of overclocking if there is suitable air flow through the case
You can undervolt the fan anyway, and any 800rpm fan (supplied is 1200rpm) is enough to give the nina adequate airflow for decent cooling overclocked or not.
Scythe Mini Ninja CPU Cooler (Socket 478/754/939/940/AM2/LGA775) the review on that wouldn't be from you would it -_- xD (matt)
+ is the mini ninja also a good alternative?
I use Zalman CNPS9700.Q6600 3.6ghz Max temp at full load 65 c.

i'll have a quick search for you and post the link if i find it
This is going to sound really nubby but that weighs like 600grams (scythe mine) how much copper can you have hanging off a thin piece of board :S
you'd actually be surprised how much weight these boards can take..
mine doesn't bent at all with *mine* hanging off it.
*like what i done there?
there's some CPU heatsinks weighing nearly 1500g..
seriously.. they don't actually weigh that much once you get your hands on it.
and btw.. i thought exactly the same before i bought 1
Thermaltake Big Typ 120 VX CL-P0310-01 Heatpipe CPU Cooler at TheCoolingShop
Very quiet, fairly compact in height (helps airflow to the rear fan) and did amazingly well in the Hexus LGA 775 roundup in thermal performance. I'm very happy with it's overall performance, though I've got the slightly older model that screws in rather than using push pins.
Biggest downside, it has a backplate so you have to take your mobo out to install.
