Thread: Logitech are a disgrace!!!

    Angry Logitech are a disgrace!!!

I won the VX Revolution Mouse and needed a new wireless receiver (the USB toggle).

I contacted Logitech and they said they do not provide replacement parts, but for the inconvininence, they would give me 35% off my next order - what a joke! I don't want to spend yet more money with company that doesn't provide replacement parts for something so fundamental to the mouse's function.

What makes matter more perverse is that Logitech in the US do provide the part!

I've emailed them back complaining this is a completely unacceptable solution and I will have to wait and see what they say.

I just can't understand why they would not stock the part, they are still making the product.

If the item is out of warranty then they are under no obligation to give you another mouse, nor any parts.

However if you do have a warranty then try to seek a replacement from the supplier.

    Hi Andrew,

I am not really referring to my or their legal position; it is simply bad customer service and while as a customer you may be powerless to do anything about it as you say, it does not change the fact that its bad customer service!

Thanks, though, for your point, I had not thought about it. It is less than a year old, so assume it is still under warranty and will raise it as a point with them. If it were broken, they would have to replace it, so they must have some spare, they obviously just do not have the mechanism in place where you can 'buy' the replacement, and so are saying they cannot do it. Which if anything makes their reticence and poor service more disgraceful!

    Re: Logitech are a disgrace!!!

I once bought a G5 from a local pc shop which went under, like they do :/ , I emailed Logitech and explained my situation that the mouse was 10month old, and that it was defective, and could they sort something out, explaining I would return the entire mouse, if required.

In the end I returned the cord of the mouse * g5's have a tell tale cord * and got a replacment mouse delivered free of charge.

Hope you have better luck with them soon, so far Logitech support have been alot better than some of their drivers :S

I`ve got an MX Revolution & it`s very interesting to see how much the included software likes talking to someone.... Presumably checking for updated software, but too often & too intrusive for my liking.

    Re: Logitech are a disgrace!!!

    I have a G11 a G5 and a G25.

    keyboard/mouse/wheel.

The keyboard drivers do my head in, the mouse drivers are stupid and always getting in my way and need all of eternity to configure to your requirements so i don't bother with either of them, yeah my G keys on my keyboard don't work but I never use them anyways, and the mouse is just fine.

I only use my G25 drivers because without them Test Drive Unlimited mucks about and is laggy to respond.

But i have those configured to only activate when I tell them to.

    Good luck with Logitech Support.

    Re: Logitech are a disgrace!!!

As relevant posts go, those last 2 are nowhere.

Try contacting them again. Logitech are legendary for going out of their way to help, normally not even getting you to send the defective part back (just asking for a photo of it smashed to bits, or at worst hacking the USB connector off and sending that). Perhaps you just got a support guy on a bad day.

In fairness to Logitech, is it because it's prize? You didn't pay anything for it, so perhaps the serial number is marked down as a prize and isn't eligible for support?

you have every right to send it back to get it repaired or replaced if it's under 1 year old under the law. Ring them and remind them of that fact.

Logitech stuff has a 3 year warranty.

Logitech replaced my G5 - it had a sticky mouse wheel. They could have argued that it worked ok, but they didn't, which was good.

How does that work if it's a prize though? If it's a gift from someone that he's won in a geek raffle or something, then yes, but if it's something Logitech sent him as a prize then I doubt he's got a foot to stand on.

From a supplier POV, we never have a problem with logitech and neither do our customers when they are referred to them directly. Try again, see what is said !

I have to echo everyone else and say that they have always been great with anything I've had to return, The only reason I have a MS mouse at the mo is that I needed a replacement ASAP and it was all that I could get my hands on at the time

    Re: Logitech are a disgrace!!!

    Logitech's Customer Service is awesome!

You normally have to smash up the faulty component (fun) and then send off the picture (posting it on more forums saying "look what the cat brought in!" or something like that... more fun!)

If you're really unlucky then they'll be picky, but I've never had any problems with the three or four things I've returned.
