Dam the BSOD(help)

well i just got some cold cathodes and a new sata dvdrw(samsung) and havent changed anything apart from that and took my dads hard drive out(ide) because he doesnt need to get his info off it.
Now problem is, booted and when i loged in, it lost the signal and rebooted and i let it boot back up and it BSOD on me i did get a picture of it with my phone(crappy) but software is on my computer that is broken at this time.

Most i got was DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL any ideas? do i need too look for something else on the blue screen? havent had one of these for ages and only when i tried and failed at overclocking.

Which OS? If some Windows variety, does it boot in Safe Mode? Could be a bad driver for the new drive trying to load.

windows XP. I changed the ram in too another channel but no different for ram isnt faulty.Should i try a different sata port?.

hmm, changed the harddrive too sata port 4 (from port 2) and the drive too port 2 (from 1) and it all works now, odd but oh well.

Not that odd. The old MSI Neo2 Platinum motherboards (first generation nForce3 chipset) and others since have had issues with minor timing problems on SATA and RAM. Hell, the current Nvidia 780i based boards suffer from it too. There were a lot of reports on various forums, especially pre-1001 BIOS that the B1 and B2 RAM slots had to be used on the Asus P5N-T motherboard to get it stable enough to install Vista and XP 64. The primary OS HDD for the aforementioned MSI board had to use SATA 3 or 4 on the early BIOS versions else Windows would constantly blue screen. Bit crap? Yes, but not unheard of!
