I am currently waiting on this processor, but i have been doing some reading up on other forums which claim this doesn't actually support 1066 ram... can anyone confirm if this is true and if yes whether there is a 100% way to fix it

No board supports 1066MHz technically. It doesn't exist as an official DDR2 speed. So when you plug it in it will show as 800MHz or PC6400 like any other PC6400+ RAM does.

If it suggests it supports it.. it means you will be able to set it to 1066MHz no problem.

that was a long time ago now though when P35 was in it's first stages. I'm sure bios updates have probably fixed most issues since then.

What CPU is it that you're going for?

Well its a q9450... i was going for the q6600 but i nabbed a q9450 (posted today)... i just been looking up other asus boards and i am wondering whether this would be a better alternative Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

I would get an Abit board if you havn't already got your own. IX38 or IP-35pro. Both offer the support you need and both overclock like crazy

can definately confirm the Abit boards overclock like crazy..
i got a 460FSB out of mine (460 x 7) which gave me a 3.2GHz overclock and it was stable..

that's the Dark Raider IP35 though.

I'd be more comfortable with one of the big boys for overclocking 1333MHz fsb chips but you're right the dark raider can do it

Providing it's flat against the chipset....

Only heard good things about the Abit boards too, definitely buying Abit myself next time, fed up of no ASUS tech support....
