    Cooler help

I have this case : Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

I have the Q6600 with the stock cooler on it, but the temps at idle are in the low 50s. I'm not over happy about this, but I like the case, and it is near a window which is partially open for the most part. However, I feel the upcoming summer (should we have one this year) is not going to make it a very happy cpu.

My difficulty is, I want a good, quiet cooler that is no larger than the one that came in the retail box, as that only just fits on the processer and lets me get it into the case, and I can't fit one on when its in the case as there's a metal bar in the way.

    Anyone able to help?

that's a nice CPU heatsink, low profile (115mm tall) and it'll do very well compared to the Intel Stock Air..

    Re: Cooler help

nah the mini ninja is far too big for that case.

You need something like the thermalright blue orb II or the zalman 8700

EDIT: you can kinda see in this pic that there is a platform above the HSF. If you want to fit the ninja you need at least PCI braket height clearance.

thanks for the help , think I'll try and get the blue orb, although it does look absolutely massive, I think it should just about squeeze onto the board
