Laptop advice needed

I am looking to buy a laptop for £400-£500 and I want the best graphics I can get for the money, but I have absolutely no idea of the relative performance of the different card/chips..... can anyone give me any advice please? I also need 2GB of RAM and any decent processor.... I have a desktop C2D so I like those, but if the Turions are better I'll happily take one. Thanks for any help.

You can get a dell vostro with 2.4GHz C2D, 8600GT 2-3GB or RAM and decent HDD for around £500 at the moment.

You can probably haggle them down from that.

I don't think you will get anywhere close to that performance for less or even a bit more money.

You'll probably have to get the 8400gs if you really dont want to go over £500, which isn't terrible (i can play most games on mine) but certain is no where near as good as the 8600GT.

I wholeheartedly second the Dell Vostro, it's a wonderfully powerful laptop for the price.

Sure, for the best price/performance point you need a desktop system, but if you don't already have a laptop, gaming and internet in bed just cannot be beaten
