Upgrade from Intel 97X to P35 chipset

I currently have an MSI 975X Platinum Power-Up with a E6600, 2GB Ram, 8800GTS graphics. I managed to get hold of a MSI P35 Neo2-FR at a good discount (£48). Is it worthwhile upgrading from the 975X chipset to the P35 or not?

can you run 9x400 on your 975X/E6600?
if so probably not as 975X is quicker clock for clock, it just doesn't hit as high fsbs.

Re: Upgrade from Intel 97X to P35 chipset

I went from a 965 to a P35 and love it. Biggest difference for me is the heat from the northbridge and other parts. Pci 2 seems to work well to with cards that support it.
