Mouse troubles
Hi Everyone,
I have a Microsoft Wireless Laser 6000 mouse at home and it's tracking is awful. I have it on a sharkoon cloth mousemat, the batteries are fine and the software is installed. It just wobbles that tiny but noticable amount as i move it, and it makes playing Battlefield a nightmare. Anyone have any ideas why this might be? It's driving me insane, I thought this was supposed to be a premium product!!
Thanks,
Tim

Re: Mouse troubles
Have you tried it on any other surfaces (your desk, paper etc.)?

Re: Mouse troubles
Are there options for sensitivity (other than windows) or other settings within software? Have had mouse problems before & am trying to think of the remedy - currently my brain is not working, but I will try to think of other options. I take it that the mouse is like this at all times?

Re: Mouse troubles
Try changing the surface and cleaning the lens, that's the normal cause of wobble and drift.

Re: Mouse troubles
Well I've tried it on my desk and it does exactly the same, and yes it pretty much does it all the time. It's infuriating! I've regressed to a ball mouse. It's not the speed of the thing, more just that it makes tiny wobbly movements as I move it around - really not ideal for gaming!
If I've cleaned the lens and used a different surface and it still does the same, is it worth whinging to Microsoft?
Cheers for the responses

Re: Mouse troubles
If its within warranty then whinge away. You should get it replaced.

Re: Mouse troubles
I was looking at keyboards for a friend of mine, and i suggested maybe a microsoft set since he didn't have many choices he liked. The 6000 desktop (incl. mouse) was in his price range. But after looking into it more, it seems like microsoft have problems with their wireless keyboards and mice. Can't find the post which I think could solve your problem. But did find this
The Microsoft mouse pointer moves erratically or does not respond when you use a Microsoft pointing device
