    What happened?

Shut my PC down last night, woke up this morning, gone to turn it on.. nothing.

Have checked the power button is connected ok, and the green light is on for the motherboard. (A7N8X Deluxe).
Pressing the power button, my rhebous will light up for a split second, the CPU fan will make an attempt at turning, manages about half a rotation and also dies. No noise, no other fans, no beeps.

    Suggestions?

turn off the PSU and unplug it and leave it for about 20 minutes then plug it in and power up again.

That sometimes happens to me, dont know why but that normally solves it, if not unplug it all again and clear the cmos then try powering up. If neither of those work you may be in trouble

Make sure everything inside it is pushed in properly i.e. IDE, PCI and Ram slots

And if that dont work then try clearing the CMOS perhaps a setting in the bios has made the PC unstable, also it could be the PC shutting down because of over heating maybe one of the fans has failed.

Yes but i cant see hwo anything is out of place. Was shutting down, rebooting, etc, last night. Came to it this morning, dead. Will try the CMOS though, although wouldnt that display an error instead of not booting?

Could you have had some sort of power surge or something during the night? The fuse in the plug could have gone i suppose.

Would suggest clearing CMOS and trying with a basic set up. e.g. 1xRAM, 1xHDD, 1xFAN, CPU, GFX, no other PCI cards.

    Hope you get it resolved.

    Will

check that your CPU fan is working

you may have shutdown if no fan on in the bios

either that or your fan headers may be shafted!

Sure its not shorting out on the case ?

Take it out, but it on a flat, no static surface and try. Always worth a shot !

Well, showed Oakey earlier, and he saw immediately my faul. I put no seperators between the motherboard and the case, and literally screwed the motherboard to it.

Still not re-connected it (with seperators), but will... Will tell you how i get on.
