Re: AX78 and 5000+ BE OC?
Whack the multi up to 15 leave the fsb as normal 200 which should give you 3.0ghz then test with Mersenne Prime Search or Download Stress Prime 2004 BETA
for a couple of hours may be more to see if its stable. I think 17x210 is pushing it a little. I'd not bother will 2 graphics cards on the motherboard unless you need it, one single graphics
solution would be better. Just a thought.
Re: AX78 and 5000+ BE OC?
The 5000 Black should hit around 3Ghz, most seem to do, mine does 3ghz stock volts, above 3.1 it starts to need silly vcore. Try as burtie suggested, then take it from there.
Re: AX78 and 5000+ BE OC?
I can hit 17x210
The problem is that OCCT isn't recognizing the fact I can do it!
unforntunately, it does seem to affect core temp, but not core clock.
Meaning that although my clock seems to stay at 2.6ghz it's rocketing the temp.
If you'd read my post you'll discover that I hit 3.2ghz stable 24 hrs... but it's not recognised as 3.2ghz in OCCT.
Answer the questions :P
Oh - and two GPUs is wanted, but not needed... and as I will probably sell on a GPU for £60 eventually, a £50 GPU isn't a bad buy.
And the fact that ESIV keeps on crashing my GPU...
Re: AX78 and 5000+ BE OC?
On my 939Dual-SATA2 with AM2CPU upgrade I got the 5000+ BE to 3.0GHz (15x200) at 1.4v. Any higher speed and I start getting errors during stress testing. The VCORE won't go any higher on my board without modification. I think your CPU / motherboard is throttling (lowering the speed automatically) when it hits higher temperatures. I had this happen when a fan controller that I was using for the CPU speed failed.
Keep an eye on the temperatures in Speedfan when you're testing a new OC. Mine didn't like it somewhere north of 60° (not sure exact temperature).
Re: AX78 and 5000+ BE OC?
lol...
I've not broken 50C yet... 40C on everything but CPU.
However.. it was a throttle thingy... refused to go above 2.6ghz. I turned it off, and I'm currently testing 3.0ghz for stability...
I'll raise it in an hour or two and see how high I can get it to boot at...
