    Motherboard/Audio help

i have an issue of my sound system only having one optical input, and i want to use two optical inputs to it (from computer and ps3). To save on cash of buying a splitter and constant switching of wires, an abit ip-35 pro which has an optical in AND out. Would it be possible to put the optical from my ps3 into the IN on the motherboard and the OUT of the motherboard going to the sound system. Would this then enable me to use the sound from the ps3 by turning the pc on???

The main problem this could cause is delay, which would impact your gameplaying experience.
