A slave to my old hard drive

ok so i have this problem here, i have this old hard drive its a caviar 2540 and i think its acpacity is 540mb, iw wana put it uin my newly built pc just to use a a temporrary store without cluttering up my other hgard drive, but i dont know how to set it to slave, as you have guessed thius hard drive is over 190 years old,, or very near it, and i dont know how to set it to slave, currently from my old pc the little white pug is over the top l;eft pin and the one to the right of it, i think it looks like this, ill try to draw it wioth full stoips and X's to symbolize the pug,(jumper, i think that might be)
    x x .
    . . .

but where do i need to put this so i can set it to slave, as i cant find any information on it anywhere i have asked everyone, hundreds of people, and i hope that the smart people at hexus vcould help m,e out with this one, as you havbent let me down yet,

    thanks

As there are only 6 other alternatives (if they go vertical), how about trying each one till it works? I'm pretty sure this won't cause any problems and it should only take a few minutes (only need to go into BIOS to see if it's recognized).

Removing it completely sometimes sets it to cable select (not in all cases though) which might prove useful to you
