    Exclamation Help with Networking

I am trying to make a small (wired) network between mine (Vista) and my partners (XP) systems.

As there are only 2 PCs, Im just using a crossover network cable.

Ive managed to get it tolook like this on both machines:

    Local Area Connection
    Network Connected

My set up is like this:

ADSL Modem is connected to XP, wich is 'shared' over the network.

But I still cant connect to the internet on mine...

I get this in the Network & Sharing Centre:

    ...............<green line>................<grey line>...............
    BAM-PC - - - - - - - - - - - Network - - - - - - - - - Internet

So my PC is connected to the network, but I cant connect to the internet through the network... even though I have 'allow other users in the network to connect to the internet......'

Can anyone help me out? Even if you recommend starting all over from scratch, just give me your orders!

It would be easier if I could just get this bloody Sagem Fast 800 ADSL modem working on Vista Home Premium

Give this a read: How to configure Internet Connection Sharing in Windows XP

If that doesn't work, shout back.

This might also be worth a look: Windows Vista - Using ICS (Internet Connection Sharing)

Thumbs up Re: Help with Networking

Cheers, turns out.. on the XP system, it had McAffee, and I forgot to configure the firewall for the network. After reinstalling XP, I installed Kaspersky, which prompted me to verify that the network was safe. Thanks for your help
