NF7 memory speed problem
I can't get my memory to run faster than 180 mhz.
Setup is in the 'play' rig below. The memory modules are coded W942508BH-5.
Power supply is a Macron 400w unit.
The maximum straight overlock I can reach is 180 mhz. I've tried relaxing the memory timings to 11-3-3-3 and upping memory voltage but no success. At 181 - 185 mhz I get Windows boot errors and any higher I get no post.
The cpu is a locked Barton and can be run asynchronously at 200 mhz with the memory at 2 x 166 mhz using the 6/5 ratio.
I'm suspecting a duff memory module. Any suggestions?

NF7-S or M or just the NF7?

but if its 2700 ram, surely asking for a 33mhz jump is not ALWAYS do-able? my Ram is Kingston (cheapish 2700 stuff) and not Winbond and the max I get is 180 and then it really spaz's out on me.
If theres something i'm missing here then please tell me but 2700 ram is 166 and i'd expect it to overclock maybe to 175 - 180 and then mess up (as yours has).
Now if they were 3200 chips i'd be worried! Like I say - if im missing something pleae point it out
EDIT- BOLLOCKS! it really does ay to read posts twice eh? i take all that back... in fact delete this post.. hehe
Yeah i'd suspect a screwey module. try putting one chip in at a time and see if you can narrow it down to one of the modules or the other...

his ram is 3200 mate!
your using the wrong divider I think
shuffle through them untill it says 400fsb
on my nf7-s i thinks its 5/6

Except when I've tried running the cpu and memory asynchronously I've set the divider to give the same speed on both ie 4/4, 5/5 or 6/6, which naturally all give 400fsb memory if the cpu fsb is 200.
