    Antec 900 case

Hi all, built my first PC a couple of days ago, runs fine, however the case came with fans pre-installed, the front 2 work like they should(sucking air into the case cooling the harddrives), however the big 200mm fan and the rear fan seem to be sucking air out of the case, I've compared them with the front 2 and they seem to be put on the wrong way around, I can correct the back one, however I don't see any way to move the big 200mm fan. I'm just wondering, is it suppose to be built this way?

    yes do not change them.

the idea is that cool air comes in bottom front and warm air is drawn out the rear.

you need good airflow for cooling

Many people turn their top fan so it points in, my top fan blows out and only blows cold air out, if it points in it will blow cold air in will it not?

hot air rises, cold air sinks. having it blow out will exhaust the hot air and possibly bring air from below (cold maybe) up which will pass through your heatsink and ram. Turning upside down would create more intake than outtake. I don't think it'd do good for the systems cooling. But try and if you find better results then let us know.

Hot air might rise, but when you have 3 120mm fans 3/4 of the way up your case these might prevent the hot air from rising any further

true, but if you had that 200mm fan upside it'd be pulling warmer air from higher up and shoving it into the case

If the air coming out is cold then it must mean your system is being cooled quite well. What about the rear exhaust. Is it warm?

    Re: Antec 900 case

The basic idea is: Air in = Air out , i.e. have the same number of fans (or equivalent) pulling air in the case as fans pushing air out, it's OK to have a small bias. Generally, fans at the top and rear of a case push air out and fans at the bottom, side or front pull air in.
