v1.1 isn't very good tbh - you need IE3 (the tracking way better) ... or alternatively any of the Logitech MX range (also very good tracking).

if you go for a logitech mx, best to actually get you hands on it first. i love the logitech mice, heavy, solid, precise .. but just couldn't get to grips with the mx700. maybe its me .. too many fingers

I have the logitech MX-700 and I think its superb, the weight is good, the glide is super smooth on my ratpadz GS and the tracking is spot on. Unfortunately they cost about £45 which is out of his price range. I know you said you can't, but if you could scrape together £30 for a mouse I'd highly recommend the logitech MX-500 which is the same as the 700 just wired rather than rf

I cant see it for less than £32ish plus delivery... and thats from here:

    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal...ue_Mice_3.html

So if you can't stretch that far then I think the intellimouse explorer is still a valid option (see above). Everyone seems to think the mx500 is worth the £35 if you can get it though. Up to you.

    cheers for the help guys.
£35 is quite a lot for a student. i might go for the MX 500 though, but if say i went for the (much cheaper) Logitech B58, would i really notice a difference?

is this a good mouse for the price? surley the tracking can't be that much worse, can it?

Yes it can - depends on whether you want to use it for games or not
... as a student, you shouldn't be playing any games - so get it - it's fine for desktop stuff (hehe)

This is the best mouse I have ever owned. Its comfortable, well designed, looks good with any system and is a great price too.
