Not sure that it will. Won't the black coating form some insulation, and therefore inhibit cooling?
Does look good though.
Black surfaces release more radiation than metallic surfaces but that isnt the main method of heat transfer. Most of the heat transfer is direct conduction into the air which carries the heat away. The black surface may impede this.
It does look cool and i doubt thermalright would release a poor performing product.
There are loads black motherboard boards, graphics cards, soundcards, PSUs, case interiors, HDDs, fans… No black heatsinks until now.
It`s just a coloured form of nickelplating, so at worst it will (should) perform the same & (hopefully) as Flewis says: "Black surfaces (particularly matt finish, I think) release more radiation than metallic (shiny/reflective) surfaces", we can only hope.
it's been mentioned a while ago. got the email. I don't see what good it is except for the color. if it's gonna cost alot more than the norm ones I wonder who would buy one.
