Scythe Mine in Abit IP35.... Ggrrrrr

Hi

Just spent the last two hours trying to fit the Scythe Mine on my IP35 Dark Raider.

I've tried fitting it with the fan blowing to the rear case exhaust and with the fan blowing up out of the top case exhaust. I can never get the 4th clip into the motherboard, and looking across it closely, you can see it isn't even making a good contact with the top of the chip..

Has anyone fitted a Mine in a Abit IP35?

Edit. Pfffffffffffff just looked again and it looks ok now. Thought the clips wern't fully in but it looks like they are afterall.

Glad its sorted. I've had that exact comob working fine (Dark raider & Mine). The push pins are an absolute nightmare to get in on any board.

I've just fitted a mine into my uATX case and I almost broke a sweat!!!

They are easy on the smaller coolers like the freezer 7 pro, only take a minute or two.

The first scythe ninja I fitted though, pain in the frickin behind. It actually fell off once the pc was built, the case was moved and then it fell off so when I turned it on.. well it wasn't happy to say the least lol

Has anyone fitted a Mine in a Abit IP35?

If i have fitted 5 or 6 into IP35-E's (same layout orund the CPU i presume).

it was IMPOSSIBLE to fit with the board in the case though. The only way to get it right was to fit it before fitting the motherboard. Also, make usr you fit the 8pin 12V before fitting the board into case aswell as thats very fiddly on these boards aswell if you have a big cooler.

I feel better now knowing it wasn't just me. Getting so paranoid that it wasn't on properly, and ofcourse each time I took it off to try again I had to clean and reapply the grease.

Yep I made that mistake - put it in and then was not able to push pins in...

Unfortunately with rev. 2 they decided to go with the crappy intel socket 775 connection method (4 pins), requires some rather firm pushing in, i struggled with mine as well.

they should have stuck with the back plate & socket 478 style connection.
