    ip35 no post problem

i just got a new systems worth of goods and have hit a snag already.

    ip35 dar raider
    quadcore cpu
    2gb ocz pc6400 4-4-4-12
    bfg 8800gt
    fps 700w psu.

tried the mini ninja but it doesnt fit right so back to stock cooler.

put it all together and it just wont post there is no video signal at all, swapped the video card for a 7800gt and still nothing, took the 8800gt into another pc and it works fine so it doesnt sound a video card prob, did all the cmos reset even reseated the cpu still nothing, no beeps, both lights are on the mobo red and green, cant figure this out and have contacted scan but all i got was the usual reset cmos guide, now i heard as soon as it posts to goto the bios and change the ram voltage to 2.2 but with no post i cant do anything, what do u think is wrong? mobo dead? cpu got issues???

any help would be more than im getting right now, even the abit forums hit a dead end.

    Re: ip35 no post problem

It doesn't post at all? What happens when you press the power switch? Nothing?

Ya, try Mike's suggestion .. I have read about this mobos problems with ram sticks that need higher than 1.8V initially.

    Re: ip35 no post problem

Does the CAPS Lock key on the keyboard work whilst it tries to boot? If it's not even getting as far as recognising the USB or PS/2 ports then it sounds like a failed motherboard.

The only other thing I can think off is an issue with the power to the video card. I realise you've swapped the video card but the PSU has not been eliminated yet, from what I can tell.

    Re: ip35 no post problem

you got a BIOS speaker on this thing?
i've had a few problems with my Abit IP35..

for 1, you need to remove the plug from the PSU and wait for the red light to go off before resetting the CMOS otherwise the reset is useless..

you got the OCZ Platinum Rev. 2?
    same RAM as me..
tried just 1 stick in the 3rd slot after a CMOS reset?
that worked for me, then adjust the RAM voltage to 2.1 - 2.2v and then power off and put the other stick in..

I don`t mean to be rude, but you have connected all plugs to the motherboard and graphics card presumably?

    Re: ip35 no post problem

im disapointed scan havent got back to me yet it was like 10am this morning i got an email which i replied promptly with all info and told them i did what they said and had nothing back from them, this looks like an RMA to me im fed up with this lark i must have built about 100 machines in my time and if there was ever a problem a quick switch of parts fixed it but this is madness...

take all the sticks out, reset the CMOS using the unplugged PSU method..
put 1 stick in the 3rd slot then reset the CMOS again by unplugged the PSU and waiting for the red light to switch off then clear the CMOS again, then try powering up..

    Re: ip35 no post problem

same issue with many ip35 users methinks - someone else on the board had this same issue a little while ago.

Mine eventually worked putting only one stick in the 4th slot before upping the ddr2 voltage to 2.1
