Heh, im the opposite in this case, ASUS boards have been hell for me
I always seem to hit the one show stopping bug that "will be fixed in the next release"......not fun when the release dates are almost random.
same. but iv only had the one. raid on M2a-mv would:
1. not be able to use a sata optical drive. as it got mangled in with the raid setup even though its obviously not supposed to be included
2. bsod on a windows install (xp in this case, but i know it affected vista too).
it actually turned me totally off integrated raid controllers, which is why i got the pathetic xfx revo 64.
now with a gigabyte motherboard, same raid controller apparently. worked with the slipstream cd i made for the m2a-vm like a dream

My ASUS P5K board has performed flawlessly for months and has survived the latest and greatest BIOS updates.
I've never got round to trying an ABit board but those DFIs look good.
Chimp
My current board is an asus a8n sli deluxe. Board has been fine although I have had problems with the SATA ports on it recently.
I am leaning towards DFI atm because it does look cool
yet to be seen what effect abit centralising European RMA does (the German, Austrian etc. offices also seem to have gone) - it may have liitle effect or possibly may even improve (the 1 email that I sent got answered within 2 1/2 minutes!).
DFI RMA is also NL & I'm told that Gigabyte RMA whilst in the UK charge you for return carriage which none of the others do afaik.
What about Gigabyte?
Another Question
I think I`m gonna get DFI LanParty LT X48-T2R board.
ATM I am using an x1900 XTX grahics card if I was to upgrade the graphics atm I could stretch to about 100 quid. WOuld I get a noticeable improvement if I was to spend that on a graphics card or would I be better waiting a couple of months and spending 2-300 on a card then?
a £200-300 card in 3 months is of course more likely to show more noticeable improvement than a £100 one now.
of course that doesn't mean that a £100 (3870) one now won't show an improvement over your X1900.
Wondering, if the 3rd PCI slot have enough clearance to fit a PCI-X card (with the extra bit hanging over).
Been trying to find a decent mobo with PCI-X and the only one I could find is the Asus one which have no reviews out there :S a PCI slot is suffice as long as there is clearance though

Just wondering if DFI have sorted out their Northbridge Fans. I currently have an old DFI NF4 Lanparty SLI-D and the fan screams like a banshee. I also found I could not replac the fan as the GFX card sits over the top of it. The only way I could handle the fan was to install fan control software that allows me to throttle back the speed.

The northbridge now uses a thermal right doo-hicky. CLunk has a review on his site of the board wheree he talks about the cooler here Clunk's Forums. - View Single Post - DFI LT X48-T2R Lanparty Living Review.
