    New EEE variant

    Noticed these: http://eeepc.asus.com/global/news04152008.htm

the new 20Gb, 1Gb versions are up for grabs on play from the 11/5.

I noticed something about the specs on the Asus Website...

    Storage: "20GB (4GB built-in +16GB flash) SSD"

Presumably that means that they are basically supplied with a 4Gb SSD and a 16Gb flash memory card?

That's right - idea is you use the 4GB for OS and apps, and the 16GB for storage.

    "20GB (4GB built-in +16GB flash) SSD"

... so is that all SSD, or is it standard flash (as in, a removable SD card)?

    Nice...

Think I might bite the bullet and get one, its getting harder to justify using my juice hungry gaming rig to check my emails and surf the net. One of these would be perfect and will take up no room at all.

    Re: New EEE variant

I don't think the 16gb is in a Sd format, as the 702 8g eee the extra module will be inside the system. Meaning a free sd slot.
