Hi,
Things seemed to be simpler in the old days *sigh* with just CAS2 and CAS3 to worry about!
Thinking of getting a 4GiB upgrade such as these from Komplett #335298 (OCZ 5-6-6-15) or #347150 (Crucial Ballistix 4-4-4-12). There is a £30 price differential, some of it explained by LEDs and heatspreader on the latter I suppose, but presumably mostly due to the timings. Personally I'm not interested in the minutae of the various splendiferous settings for memory in the BIOS, I'd rather not tamper with that side at all, as I know sweet FA about it...
On that note: On a non-overclocked memory system (ie Cpu may be overclocked but memory stays same as bus speed) would there really be an appreciable difference? That is, one that can be observed without resorting to benchmarks.
Actually what would be a noticeable difference? >5%? >10%? Or more?
Thanks for any illumination...
