Are there and disadvantaged to this?
Such as cabling and more importantly any cooling issues with mounting it at the bottom?
also will psu cables stretch that long?
as many cases these days seem to come with the psu fitting on the bottom.

When the concept became mainstream, the 'P4' +12v connectors were often too short on PSUs, however these days the cables are long enough. Cooling wise, as long as the case has a top exhaust fan, it shouldn't effect CPU cooling negatively and it should reduce deadzone space.
It may be slightly easier for dust to get into the psu due to gravitys assistance but I doubt it makes much difference. I think there have been stories of people loosing small parts in their psu's when they are at the bottom.
I find that the case runs cooler with the PSU at the bottom.
And the PSU isn't suffering from taking in warm air.
i got the cosmos and it lets u mount the psu either way round, so mines sat with the 120mm on the bottom sucking cold air straight in from the vent and spitting it out the PSU, so it does not increase case temps at all !
best way to have it I say. Wouldn't mod my case if I couldn't do it though :D
