Which scoket 775 motherboard: £50 to £60?
Scan seem to be out of stock of the Abit IP35-E. I need to buy a motherboard for a new build within a week as all of the other components will be with me by this weekend. I had the Abit IP35-E in mind but would be happy for alternative suggestions.
Which motherboard has a decent number of USB ports, can take all sorts of heatsinks, will support Intel dual-core and quad-core (socket 775) CPUs, will take up to 8MB of RAM and is well-built, well laid out and costs £50 to £60? I'm nit too bothered about overclocking capability - I just need it to run cool, quiet and 100% stable.
[Edit] Oops - typo in title which I can't edit!

The Abit IP-35 Dark Raider would be your best bet, its on Today Only once a week I would say.
Re: Which scoket 775 motherboard: £50 to £60?
^ That's on preorder too, and slightly overbudget.
Re: Which scoket 775 motherboard: £50 to £60?
if it has to come from SCAN & be in that price range you are struggling.
How about Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK ? again slightly over budget though.
Re: Which scoket 775 motherboard: £50 to £60?
^ That's not a bad suggestion, BUFF. It doesn't _have_ to come from Scan. I just prefer to order from Scan but the stock situation is poort at the moment with the Abit mobos, apart from the IP35-Pro which would be overkill for my build and overbudget.
Re: Which scoket 775 motherboard: £50 to £60?
the stock situation looks poor on about 1/2 of SCAN's P35 mobos ...
never used them but Abit IP35-E Intel P35 1333FSB Motherboard - Socket LGA775 - AWD-IT.CO.UK & MicroDirect have the IP35-E in stock.
Re: Which scoket 775 motherboard: £50 to £60?
How about Asus P5K SE - £57 - Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK - is in stock plus supports DDR2-1066 and has an e-sata port.

Dark Raider - Cheap and cheerful but will do all you want :)
The specs are pretty good for the price and it plays nicely

^ Thanks, Andy. I ordered the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L from Scan. There's a good review of it on X-bit Labs and it performs very well compared to my more costly Abit IP35-Pro:
X-bit labs - Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L (rev. 1.0) Mainboard Review (page 8)

^ Yes, that's the one! It was in stock when I ordered it. But who knows whether i'll get the 'out of stock' email tonight?

Not bad really when i just got the cheapest board with the P-35 chipset, it was £45 at the time, they don't sell the s3 on scan anymore though.
