You most likely are. When I was at school, my friends and I took an interest in Chemistry, chemical reaction and books like the Anarchist's Cookbook.

The concoction I mentioned above not only burns very hot, but also produces a lot of smoke. A corridor floor in our school was slightly damaged and the corridor filled with smoke in one of our infinitely stupid pranks. I cannot believe how stupid we used to be.
Thankfully, we never lost any limbs, but I have a big scar at the top of my left leg. And we have since grown out of such nonsense.

I must also ponit out that utilising the instructions in such publications is not only HIGHLY DANGEROUS, due to some unsound chemistry, but also HIGHLY ILLEGAL. So just say no.
