Could anyone lend me a 775 processor?

I'm having some hardware problems on a new build (see my thread on x48 build no post or beep). I've narrowed it down to either a cpu or mobo fault, only problem is I have no way of testing either of them as the pc its replacing is an AMD socket A (lol).

Sooooo i was wondering if anyone has an old 775 processor they could lend for a few days (i'll pay for the postage!!!)

    Cheers,

    Vaughane

You don't have any friends with an Intel 775 processor? Realistically you're asking for a huge amount of trust from a stranger, especially given you're just joined the forum . Best of luck to you though.

Unfortunately my friends are all part of the laptop brigade. I know i'm asking for a lot but an old E2140 would do the job. If i have no luck i'll probably have to try ebay.

Anyhows cheers for the reply :-)

Re: Could anyone lend me a 775 processor?

I'd be surprised if the CPU was the problem. I've only had one friend who had a dead CPU and it wasn't even DOA, and I'm not convinced he didn't do something stupid to it (he managed to snap a CPU socket clip once). It was also an old IBM (Cyrix) CPU, back in the days they were known to be problematic.

I've posted on your other thread. It's much more likely to be motherboard, RAM, power, compatibility, or user error .

Sorry, but any trading on the forums requires access to the For Sale forum.

One rule for all I'm afraid buddy
