Last resort but have you tried a different SATA cable ??

Tried 3 in all the sata connectors on 2 different mobos, 1 with an OS loaded and one the new biuld without.

i would be liable to write the drive off as faulty and get it replaced

Ok tried the uncut command and it just kept saying re power you drive or some such rubbish.

That just means you need to turn your computer on and off - something about only being able to make one change per power cycle.

Just tried it 3 times in a row, each time this being the only thing i changed, still says 'fail, try to re-power HD'
Samsung driver reports 'out of memory error'

Boot from this and set size to MAX.

I had the same thing with a couple of Seagate 1TB drives recently and used their tool - it would only work from the iso THOUGH.

Ahh, thats what i was talking about when i said samsng driver thingy.....

Rest assured i have tried it and it said 'out of memory error' and wouldn't go any further.

Phoned scan up and they sorted out rma straight away, so now i need a replacment, and suggestions?
Want large and reliable over speed really.

WD HDDs are on scan today only so got a 750 gig wd7500aaks
