Overclocking to get harder?

Either that or an easier-to-tweak AMD CPU ends up being more powerful then the hard-to-tweak Intel, thus overclockers go for AMD CPUs to get the best for their money.

TBH, as much as I enjoy overclocking, it is already time consuming enough as it currently it.

Future reviews showing overclockability and real-world performance when overclocked, could be crucial in deciding what processors to buy from the next generations.

Yep, especially when trying to find the lowest vcore for your overclock. Lower VCore, prime for x hours, and repeat till perfect. I hope AMD pulls a fab CPU out of nowhere and starts giving Intel some fierce competition.

Doesnt concern me much, as long as it is still possible to heavily overclock I will happily fiddle with as many settings as necessary.

Just read the bit-tech article.
Surely though they were talking about the upper end of overclocking.
The way I read it is you'll still be able to do a bit of overclocking (like the way I do. Up the FSB, when it's no longer stable drop it back a bit and leave it at that), but to hit the max overclocks you'll need to delve into the rediculously complex stuff in bios.
Some guys already spend days just fiddling with timings, I'm sure they're not going to be bothered about a few more settings to tweak.
In fact, it'll help the truly dedicated feel a bit better about all the effort they put in in comparison to casual overclockers like me.

GTL Reference Voltages
CPU VTT and its relation to GTLs
Clock Skews
CPU PLL Voltages

Yes, good news for AMD that.... although I wonder what proportion of CPUs sold are sold to enthusiasts? Initially I would think not many, but then overclocking has become pretty widespread recently, with many articles about it in PC gaming mags, and the like..........

I should this its still a relatviely small number but no un-noticed.

I think the enthusiast market has more affect of the word of mouth. We say AMD are good people who know less will think they are too lol
