    Turning off speedstep

Every time my clock speed changes it messes with nuendo. There is no option to turn it off in the bios, unless it is a hidden feature?

Is there a way of turning it off in software? I have notebook hardware contol, but whatever I do in it, the cpu just ignores!

The CPU is a T5500 and its an advent laptop
    With love and many thanks,

    Re: Turning off speedstep

is there an option to disable C1E.. i think thats what it's called.. you need to disable this aswell as speedstep..

other than that - it could be some 'power saving' feature of your notebook, to underclock the cpu when you disconnect it from the mains power and run solely on the battery..

I don't know how to alter the 'power saving' feature, but those are 2 things that would cause clock speed changes..

    Re: Turning off speedstep

It does have a button that downvolts the cpu (thats all it does as far as I can tell). The bios is VERY basic, you cant really change anything :S

    Re: Turning off speedstep

As far as I can see, when the clock speed changes, the CPU overload light flashes (in nuendo). And I get an audio dropout
