    Overclock help needed

Hi folks, need some advice, I've been runing my nf7s V2/Barton 2500+ at 400 FSB and clock speed 3200 (2.2 GHz), my processor temp was up to 52 Degrees after leaving the system on for 24 hours, after tinkering about a bit the system bombed out for a while with processor error messages at post, when the thing had cooled it was ok again (but had to reset bios and load failsafe)

I have one AMD fan (came with OEM processor) on the heatsink and two case fans all working fine, Do i need a better heatsink fan? or do i need to up the voltages to the processor? currently switched it back down to 2500 for safety.

Power supply is 450W with a powerful fan

Have you tried running prime95 on it to see if its stable? If not its here:

If it reports errors when you run the torture test, then you need to up the voltage in the bios, or drop down the overclock a little until you can run it for a few hours with no errors. You also need to check the temperature of your processor after having run Prime95 for a while, it may well be higher than the 52 you reported above. If you do need to up the voltage through the CPU by a notch or two, then be aware that this will generate more heat, and so a better HSF would be necessary really, and its probably a good idea to get one anyway to bring your temperatures down. I'd try something like the Aero 7+ from here:

yes to all the above and i expect you're probably using the standard crap thermal pad on the heatsink. Get some proper paste and apply it yourself.

Jus use one of the useless cards from your wallet to apply it evenly over the die of the processor. get rid of all the old crap from the cpu and heatsink with some white spirit & cotton buds.
