LOL .. I would not have hesitated a second if I was in your shoes, I love taking my PC apart and putting everything back together!
But point is you are going to have to sort this issue out because 45 idle is NOT GOOD. Your load temps will be through the roof, and you haven't even overclocked yet. Those idle temps are 8 degrees higher than my overclocked q6600 idle temps. Fair enough, I have a larger heatsink but still I can bet there is something very wrong here.
And when ambient temperatures do go up in summer, those temps are going to scale also.
So set yourself 1.5 hrs aside and reseat

This is just a random thought: its possible that your Q6600 is being hit with more voltage than necessary, worth checking out your BIOS and setting everything to factory defaults? Can you put up a cpu-z shot?
