    Fan Speed Issue?

Hi all, I have 3 YateLoon 1300RPM 120MM Fans in my case

2 Chassis, one on my Ultra120

My motherboard is an ASUS P5E

In the bios I set the Chassis to 60% and the fan goes to about 800rpm

Before I used to set the CPU FAN to silent in the bios and it would also go to 800rpm

But now whatever setting i put the cpu fan on it stays at 1300 rpm??

    Any ideas!?

Before anyone asks I havent updated my bios or anything either

    Re: Fan Speed Issue?

did the silent setting ramp up the fan speed according to temps ?

might be dust causing heat build up ?

i get the same problem on my asus p5k and controlling the chassis fans.
never found a solution, but if your REALLY desperate, a zalman fanmate is the answer.

    Re: Fan Speed Issue?

no i dont think so it is just based on the voltage, my case temps are very acceptable, mobo is 25c and the cpu is around 17c

    Re: Fan Speed Issue?

That CPU temperature doesn't seem right - surely it's below ambient.

I've tried a couple of utilities for temps and they are OK for HDD and Mobo but list the cores as below ambient.

Asus Probe gives about 32C idling and 43C on load for my CPU - seems more reasonable in an ambient of 19C.

Dont worry there is nothing wrong with the temps guys, core temps are around 30 overall cpu temp is at 19ish, I am running a Q6600 at 1.4 Ghz with only 1v so that is why
