Throwing Stars and Nunchucks?

I am considering buying a Scythe Mini Ninja to go with my AX78 and BE 5000+.

My main problem with my current HSF is size. It covers up two (needed) RAM slots... and considering I now have ~£75 to burn on computer parts I guess it's better for me to get some (more) advice on what to get.

I'm spending about £35 of that money on 2GB RAM (2x1) so don't start suggesting wildly expensive things, but I've still got £30-40 to spend on a nice, cool and hopefully quiet HSF. Something that doesn't wake up the folks or the people across the road and doesn't sound like a minature lawnmower really.

So... you've got £40 to spend on a HSF... what do you buy?

It has been suggested multiple times, but lots of different people, that a mini ninja is the way to go here, but I'm worried about size issues (I would have, as best as I can make out, 1-5mm clearance before fans are added onto HSF) with the AX78 and my Xclio Coolbox.

So - suggest something that doesn't cover up RAM and that doesn't sound like a lawnmower

It may cover the closest RAM slot but you cant all ways shift the fan up a bit higher to give enough clearance for the RAM.

Thermaltakes typhoon may be an option, it's fairly low. Coolermaster gemini is huge but clears the RAM.

So your basically saying, "find one so big it goes OVER the RAM?"

No i'd go with the mini ninja as it's got to be the best low profile (ish) cooler there is, and me being a big fan of the ninja helps too

The coolermaster gemini is not very good really but it isn't very tall and hovers over the RAM ensuring that it won't affect it I guess.

Will it passive cool a BE 5000+ running at 3.0ghz?

That might be a push but honestly I think you'll be able to use the fan. Looking at the images people have done it with ease.
