P31 OR P35 chipset?

All I need is a motherboard for my new build (I know..pretty crucial part!)

Can't decide between p31 and p35 chipset. Is it really worth paying the extra £10-15 extra for p35 when you can get most of the features on a p31?

Only differences I can really see are less max RAM (can't see 4gb limit being much of a problem)

Any suggestions? Anyone got a p31?

P.S. I'm sticking a Q6600, 4gb ddr2-800 RAM, and 2 SATA HD's in it.

Unless you're strapped for cash the P35 is a better choice. The P31 is not a bad chipset but there are only a few P31 boards worth considering e.g. Gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L .

Yeah I was looking at the Gigabyte. My only concern is whether PC's are gonna need the ability to upgrade to 8gb of RAM say when Windows 7 shows up...

It probably will, DDR3 too... 775 will also be obsolete in less than a years time so don't make plans for 8GB just yet, unless you want to hold onto the CPU and motherboard for a few years then a P35 isn't a bad choice, or wait and see what P45 has to offer.
