great! :juggle: does these facts mean my temps are fine? but why everytime i try to play cyrsis it freeze? it's very unfortunate coz' i love to play that game and play it on my system's maximum performance (high settings it is!)

i doubt it though... that the CPU & HSF doesn't have enough contact... i am beginning to have a conclusion that it is pretty normal for a quad to have those temps reading. i guess it's a must for any quad system to put after market cooling fan... i'd rather choose Zalman for me but unfortunately it's not available in Qatar. :angst: and all the shops i've visited doesn't know what is zalman is! what a shame! :ill:
Presuming that your temps, even if a bit high, are OK (and Crysis is not going to stress them like Orthos) and Memtest says your memory is fine, then the GPU is the next stop. Did you try running another game or better still 3dMark06? How long does it play in Crysis before freezing? When you say freeze, does anything odd happen with the sound? Do you have to do a reset?
No. You're wrong, its really that simple.
It doesn't matter how much you dress it up - You're wrong.
I don't need to email Intel, I deal with semiconductors daily. Me along with a huge number of people here have a minimum of degree in the field. This is _basic_ stuff, and I will not allow you start telling others they are wrong on the very basics of building a computer.
PeterB is correct, again.
If you want to disagree with him or anyone else on the forum - fine. But if you can't backup your comments with little more than...
You're not only going to get laughed at, but I will personally remove your access here.Quote:
its a fact.
i dont care what you think,
i know the facts.
I don't mean to come across as harsh here but two things are coming to mind:
1) Bad advice is worse than no advice. If you can not back-up what you're saying, don't say it.
2) You are being rude. Simply commenting that "i dont care what you think, i know the facts." is borderline trolling in my eyes
Me or any of the other mods do not have time to go chasing and correcting plainly wrong posts that you may make. Not only that, but you're going to start annoying a lot of the long term members who do know their stuff and have to spend their time correcting you, when it could be better spent actually helping with peoples questions.
Now we are a friendly bunch mate. Really, we are :) But lets make this clear: I am not going to let you start peddling bad advice and annoying the members that know their stuff with your lack of understanding.
If you want to stick around and learn - cool, that's what the forums are for :) We all have to start somewhere, but please - lay off on talking about what you obviously have no understanding of.
Cheers :)
Agree, try some other games. If you want to stress your gfx card download ATI tools and do a 'scan for artifacts'. You will find that it will increase your gfx temp quite a bit, but then it should level off.
ATi Tool 0.27 b2 download from Guru3D.com
Or alternatively download the crysis benchmark software and run it on 20 loops with high settings, and see what happens.

TBH your cpu temps are a slightly on the high side but they would not cause your system to become crash. My bets on the gfx card as 8800GT's are known to get quite hot and sometimes that can cause problems.
tnx... i will try hellgate to see if it freeze. unfortunately i don't have 3dmark06.
i played crysis for about 5 minutes, actually it freezes even on the intro movie. the sounds are fine... even if it freezes it continues to play and i don't have to reset but i am very confused coz' my graphic settings is only medium and i don't want to use low settings coz' it doesn't make sense to have quad if i can't maximize it's full value. hope you get what i mean. :)
great! thanks for the link! :juggle:
i tried VMT stress test and it says no error either on my card. i tested it with the default VMT settings (low resolution). about the temp i am getting, i guess your right... the card gets too hot and it becomes very noisy during crysis playtime. i google it up to find others opinion and i found out that it is pretty normal on any 8800GT card. tsk tsk tsk... but anyhow... i'll try to play hellgate and see what happens next. wish me luck... :ill:
Futuremark - Download - 3DMark06
This doesn't have any video cutscenes, just game-type sections, the last of which stress the CPU. I'm wondering whether it's the video sections that are the problem...
crysis benchmark... looks fine... is the result COOL? :rockon2: i mean is it below average for a quad?

Its about correct :), I think. You were able to run 21 loops so I would say your gfx card is fine.
Run it on 3 loops, on 1280*1024 with no AA, but everything high.
here it is... i guess all system go... :juggle: does the FPS ok? i don't have any idea how they measure it... the lower the better or the higher? till 100? (sorry for the questions arised, i know it's not related to the thread it just comes along the way)

The higher the FPS, the better.
Your score of 40.295 is about correct for an 8800GT paired up with a stock clocked Q6600 @ 2.4Ghz. :)
Well it *seems* then that the problem is strictly when you *play* Crysis. Does it always freeze during video sequences rather than during the game proper?
