The higher the FPS, the better.

Your score of 40.295 is about correct for an 8800GT paired up with a stock clocked Q6600 @ 2.4Ghz.

Well it *seems* then that the problem is strictly when you *play* Crysis. Does it always freeze during video sequences rather than during the game proper?

    Not necessarily!
There are more things it can be and over heat is just one of them.

So it runs the BenchMark OK but freezes in the game proper? Sounds like a problem specific to Crysis then, software not hardware. Have you got the latest certified NVidia drivers?

If I were you I'd check out the gaming forum and also find a specialist Crysis one - this may be a known problem.

Have you installed the latest drivers? Try uninstalling them and reinstalling the latest ones.

    GeForce Release 175

Have you tried any other games?

I'm wondering if your in game video settings are just set too high. What does the benchmark run at? Try changing your settings to the same as that. You are aware that Crysis can bring any current system to its knees?

i set the graphic settings to medium for crysis when i played it (previous setup i made on my core2duo before). well, i don't know where to find the benchmark on hellgate, supreme commander and cnc3 tbh. yes, i am aware that crysis is a strong game that's why it is the first game i tried after i set up my upgrades to see how it will push my rig to the limit... but, i am not aware it can have a lag effect in core2quad even on a medium settings. And "very High" settings is disabled by default and there's no way i can enabled it.

That sounds to me like your system is just struggling with the game, most likely due to moments when the graphics load increases (resulting in a dip in framerate) or when the system has to load up a new set of textures.

e.g. I found the clouds in the opening Crysis movie to be a total framerate killer regardless of settings.

I'd also reccomend looking at you hdd led/listening for noise whenever you get a freeze, if you see a flurry of activity then you may have your culprit.

whew! tnx man! is it safe to say that playing a game with a very high requirements will push the system to the limits and will result on hight temps?
