Question Asus Manual is Rubbish! Help with internal pin connection setup Please.

I have an Asus P5N-E MOBO and have just purchased a front panel to go in the front of my PC.

    The panel has
    USB
    Firewire IEEE1394
    SATA
    CARD READERS
    6 CH AUDIO PORTS.

I have managed to get the USB's, card readers and SATA ports connected to the MOBO and are working fine.

But im lost with the Audio connections as in the manual it shows.

What the Hell is that showing??? Why is it not simple and show like it is labeled up on the audio cables
    MIC-R
    MIC-L
    FRONT-R
    FRONT-L
    REAR-R
    REAR-L
    GND
    BASS
    CENTER

Not all this port 1L port 1r???? WTF? And also it says that there is an internal firewire on the MOBO which it shows on the MOBO but does not tell you what the hell which pin is what?

If some one has this MOBO and has setup a front panel then please put me out of my bad mood and let me know....

    Cheers ALL!!!!

Well, actually it is fine, because you can select which port have what function in the Realtek software.
However it seems that it only support 2 outputs/inputs to the front panel only. None of the computer case I've seen included more than the combination of mic and front channel. I guess you can set the mic to the centre channel, but you're not gonna get the rear channel out of it, because the pin is simply not there (perhaps there are more pins for the front module?)

For the firewire, it is quite straight forward, the pin layout should be next to the USB page

Hummm so i can just connect front Green audio pin in any port on the pins shown?

As for the firewire there is nothing in the manual showing which pin goes where on the MOBO.
Just states that there is internal Pin connection on the MOBO.

the firewire headers are certainly shown.
if your front panel device has individual pins rather than a single connection block imo that's more their problem than Asus.

On an abit it's as below if that's any use.
    Pin 1 TPA+ Pin 2 TPA-
Pin 3 ground Pin 4 ground
    Pin 5 TPB+ Pin 6 TPB-
    Pin 7 +12V Pin 8 +12V
no Pin 9 Pin 10 ground

    MSI P55-GD80, i5 750
    abit A-S78H, Phenom 9750,

    Yes
If you've installed the audio driver, just plug in something and the software will pop up asking you what is connected, and you just pick from the list. As long as you got the direction (i.e. L/R) correct it should be fine.
The procedure is exactly the same for the back panel and the front panel.

I don't have my Asus board/manual handy so I could only tell you what i know :S
