Awesome temps. The 900 does it again.
i dont believe there correct unless that water cooled ?
Isn't that only stressing two cores? Don't you have to start two instances and assign the affinity?
i know my m8's WC rig doesnt do those temps at idle so i dare say the bios is reporting wrong ?
What does uGuru show?
And Blitzen, I'd have never believed 46 @ 3.2 either, and he does have a nice low VID. Might be undercalling it by 10C if TJMax is 105C on this.
It's not a BIOS measure. The temps are taken directly from the CPU. The problem is that all the core measuring programs rely on and make assumptions about TJMax, which due to Intel changing that on different fabs, they often get wrong. Real Temp assumes 95C on a Q6600 G0. CoreTemp assumes 105C. Sometimes one is right, sometimes the other, and probably sometimes neither.
Your quite right folks, I just had a little test with another program (core temp 0.99) and its only stressing two cores. How do I change the affinity so I can give the other two a core thrashing as well?
I just have a go on Oblivion to see how things were... then had another play. Tried taking it up to 3.2 and it was happy had errors in orthos, brough it down a bit more (355 FSB) and it still didn;t like it so I've brought it back down to 3.0 for the time being. Running orthos again and cores are at much higher temp thsi time, in fact all 4 are a lot higher. might still be hot from gameage.
