SATA Connections
I will be shortly changing my PC case and will be doing a straight move of all the components.
Does it matter if I don't reconnect all of my hard drives (3 No SATA) to the same ports on the mobo as before the swap? ie Will the system drive still be recognised correctly and the drive letters still stay correctly assigned to the same physical drive as before if I change the ports used?
I'm getting a coolermaster cosmos 1000 and, in the interest of cable management, may want to re-arrange how the HDs are connected.
Thanks and apologies if it's a numpty question :help:

Re: SATA Connections
As long as the system hard drive (the one with your operating system installed on) is plugged into the correct port, everything will work fine, else your BIOS will try booting from the wrong drive, which will fail due to there being no boot code in the MBR area.

Re: SATA Connections
You should be able to reconnect the SATA drives to any port as long as you update the hard disk boot priority so that your computer tries to boot your system hard drive before your other HDDs.
