    Re: Cheap PC until Nehalem

As he says the bulk of the components are for his next upgrade so thats not really the issue. Obviously you could get those parts and keep your motherboard, cpu and RAM but selling those parts will probably take the edge off the intel cpu, and board anyway.

With the cheapest cpu option it will only be around £130 anyway.. since he's got all the time in the world now with no work to do (isn't it fun? ) a new build is something to do isn't it

I was going to upgrade mine when I had nothing to do at first but now I can't be bothered lol

You know what, I think you are right... that is what I was thinking for the past 6 months... I think I will just upgrade the case then, and then make the NAS in this old case with my spare 939 mobo/cpu/ram...

I will soon have a HTPC that is faster than my gaming pc

I'll find another way to wave my willy

oh sim likes his willy waving

He wants a cooler pc and better general performance. Was talking to him yesterday and he was saying his hard drives are hitting 50 or 40c. I suggested getting a new case which could cope with the heat dissipation. What with trying all these small fixes that he's done they are amounting to a small system build!

Anyone know any place that has the P182 mirror edition in stock?

Watch out for the P182, although quiet, cool and nice looking it can be a bit of a git to build in!

In what way? I really enjoyed the two builds I've done with modular PSU's. Fixed cables was a tad more annoying.

    Re: Cheap PC until Nehalem

Funnily enough mine was with one of the corsair modulars, the cables are just not quite long enough, but that may be partly the fault of the IP-35 mobo. And the cable ties kept breaking around the back. It was all a bit too tight for my liking, then again I do have great big, fat fingered hands.

    Re: Cheap PC until Nehalem

Oh well one of the ones I did was with the same PSU and mobo which I found to be prefect A little bit hard getting the 8 pin connector in with the scythe ninja in place but doable with some long nose pliers or small hands.

    Re: Cheap PC until Nehalem

I think I may have been spoiled by my Akasa Eclipse-62, that thing had a great layout internally but was dog ugly.

I really do need to sort out my internals, they are rather a mess!

    Re: Cheap PC until Nehalem

I like the gun metal grey P182 subtle but nice. That said I have an Akasa Eclipse which is the most bog standard looking case in the world so anything is more interesting

EDIT: slight coincidence there.. didnt see your post menthel haha

I can't remember what niggles they are but the P182 irons them out

    Re: Cheap PC until Nehalem

The p182 has nice cutouts for cable routing and other little improvements here and there, which is pretty neat. Right now I'm looking at putting together a mATX cube rig using Silverstones SG02B-F, which is pretty cheap (£47) given how much you can stuff into it without murdering airflow.

The P180/2 both don't have side intake.... That would help with my mobo temps a lot won't it... I am leaning towards the 1200 now... maybe if moogle posted more pics I will be convinced

True but you can add fans either end of the upper hdd cage to generate one hell of a draft got a pic to demonstrate what i mean if you like

The 1200 is very nice though, huge.. but nice.
