Ran 3 memory test programs. 2 passed 1 failed

I kept getting a blue screen on loading windows even in safe mode, so i tested the ram.

Memtest gives me a pass
Gold Memory gives me a pass

But Docmemory gives me a fail.

The computer is a HP workstation and has 2 sticks of ram and docmemory fails both of them when put individually or together.
I tried some standard DDR2 but PC would just beep and not boot up. Probably needs ECC which i don't have.

so which diagnostics software should i trust?

Take worst case - memory can cause BSOD problems and the results are consistent with that.

Did you use Memtest or MEMTEST86+? Mmtest86+ is reputed to be a better test environment.

untill it said pass. so about an hour or so.

i didn't run a loop

docmemory gave me a fail within 5 minutes.

Well unless there's a bug in docmemory I'd also tend to take the worst case scenario.

I'd also let memtest run overnight to be sure.

I just tried installing windows xp, and i got BSOD there during the setup. so it looks like a definite memory issue.
