Blitzen (04-06-2008)
I enjoy a good debate too! But Blitzen likes to rubbish people if they don't agree as has been seen many times just look back at some previous threads. As for him owning both psu's! I would take that with a pinch of salt as he once asked me to post a 3dmark 06 score for an E8400 cpu and 8800gts which I did. He then had one of his debates on ebuyers forums claiming he had done the 3dmark score himself. He even said I had adjusted my sig when I hadn't in months to cover my tracks how pathetic.
I rest my case

Think you will find I added quite a lot I even agreed with some of the things you said. You on the other hand...... Still makes me laugh even today
Pot calling kettle black me thinks aswell as I have just read your reply to a thread regard claiming tax back where a student had paid £500 tax over a few months and your reply was
"I wish £500 was all i was taxed over a few months.
Come to think of it, i wish i was taxed £500 per month"
What was useful about that exactly?

I would like to add a vote for the Corsair.
I agree with what Blitzen said about the cabling and plugs being better on the Enermax, but that's where it stops for me.
The problem that Enermax have had with their last models (Galaxy/Infiniti) is that their long term reliability and compatibility is very poor.
For example, a new wave of motherboards arrive and your Galaxy/Infiniti suddenly won't work unless you send it back and get a "revised" model.
This is why a lot of the reviews showed those models to be great PSUs, and rightly so, because to all intents and purposes, they were great PSUs and would have remained so if you never changed your motherboard for the life of the PSU. Obviously, the kind of people that the Galaxy/Infinity were aimed at were enthusiasts, and by their very nature, tend not to keep their motherboards for long periods of time.
I suppose that what I'm saying is, the Modu hasn't been out long enough yet, for it to be truly recommended, especially with Enermax's track record of the last couple of years, whereas the Corsair, I can personally vouch for as being a workhorse, and doesn't suffer from any of the problems that my 5 Galaxy's did
And that's a damn good point. We just need all those Corsairs in our machines to last a couple of years, so they don't turn out like the Hipers...
Buying a PSU can be a very fraught experience.
You have added abolutely nothing to this thread so your case isnt even made.....let alone rested.
We had a very good debate regarding two of the best PSUs on the market for home users. We went through the lot....from quality, to RMA, to Warranty issues. We even discussed a few finer points which Staffsmike and Clunk bought up aswell.
Then, with no thought, information or dynamic to bring to the discussion you start wading in with needless posts that have:
a. Nothing to do with original post
b. Offer absolutely no weight to the argument
c. Were just whine
d. Do exactly (if not worse) than what you accuse me of doing!!!!
Especially with point D. That makes you look very stupid, particularly with you pot/kettle/balck remark.
You really didnt think this through did you
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So.............all that aside, and seeing as how in your sig you own one, what is your opinion, if you have one, on the Corsair PSU. YOu must surely have an opinion on it or you wouldnt have joined the thread.
Cheers for the laughs and advise guys i bought the 520w corsair today from scan and its barely audiable (spell?) so far i think its a cracking psu. I agree the connectors aren't the best, dont give a " clicky " feel on some of them compared to my friends enermax but so far so good lets just hope it stays that way !

Can we get back to the discussing of hardware please. If either of you have a complaint about the other, refer it to a mod please, and don't deal with it by a public punchup in here. This is a hardware forum.
Thanks.
But you fired back.
I didn't, and don't, particularly want to get into who started what. I don't care. Suffice it to say that forums aren't for members to snipe at each other. So :-
- atmadden - comments like "Up to your old tricks again Blitzen? Funny how a lot of your posts end up like this." are uncalled for. They are only going to cause arguments. If you have a problem with someone's posting, report it to a mod. That's what we're here for.
- Blitzen - when a remark like the above is made, report it. Don't go back with "With you adding absolutely nothing again you mean?". That was also unnecessary, and is just likely to trigger a response. Which is how flame wars start.
If either of you (or anyone else in a similar situation) reports stuff that shouldn't be posted, then we can quietly remove it and avoid what often turns into a flame-fest.
This is a pretty low-level incident, and it didn't flare up badly. But the the rest of us don't want to see people arguing like that in a hardware forum. And even if some people do want to watch the fireworks, the mod team don't as we usually end up trying to clean up the threads.
I have 2 liberties 400 and 500 and two corsairs a 450 and a 520
i also agree with what Blitzen said about the cabling and plugs
they all work flawlessly lol so i have no RMA experiance
my view now is if you want a 400 - 500 get the corsair if you dont want modular
for a 500-550 get the corsair as once the cables are inplace they are forgoten
my vote = 520 corsair
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Having used 3 different modular PSUs I really can't see what the fuss about the Corsairs is. They looked fine to me. What's more important, they work. As I said previously, the only thing we can't guarantee is that there won't be problems down the line, but being made by Seasonic then that seems unlikely. They're a damn good PSU at a fair price. Soon I'll have to choose between the HX520 and the Infiniti 720 as the PSU in my main system, and it's tribute to the Corsairs that I'm leaning that way (due to some Infinitis having compatibility issues).
